Crickhowell Choral Society Friends and Patrons Scheme

We began our Friends and Patrons Scheme in 1997 and owe a great deal to the generosity of our supporters: without them we could not put on such exciting and varied concerts. It has been a very successful scheme, resulting in some significant extra funding. Some of our Patrons have been extremely generous and have sponsored individual artists or particular pieces of music. Thanks to them, we are very lucky to attract some really big names, especially in the Early Music scene. We now have some 70 Patrons.

Patrons receive advance notice of concerts and are invited to order tickets to reserve places: this is a distinct advantage, especially in our church venues. There is no doubt our audiences have grown since we started the scheme – our patrons not only give us financial support – they enjoy our concerts too!

We organise an annual summer barbeque, or similar social event, with some musical entertainment, as an opportunity for choir and patrons to meet and for us to say thank you. Occasionally we have other social events too and are always happy to receive any suggestions.

Subscriptions, payable annually by cheque or, preferably, Bankers Order, are a suggested minimum of £30 and can be Gift Aided – a great and painless way to increase the value of the gift.

The Friends Scheme is an alternative way to support us and keep in touch, with subscriptions at just £10 per year. Again information is sent out in advance, but reserved seats are not available. We are grateful to those who support us this way, as it helps to cover costs of mailing.
